Tenure-track Faculty in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

The Department of Physics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. The condensed matter group at Notre Dame consists of 8 experimental and 4 theoretical faculty, doing research in hard and soft condensed matter physics, complex networks, and biophysics. The successful candidate should have a strong track record in experimental condensed matter research, will be expected to attract independent research funding and to teach effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate level. The expected start date is August 2017. Tenure-track Faculty in Astrophysics

The Department of Physics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in astrophysical instrumentation. Priority will be given to applicants with a strong track record in instrumentation, but applications will be accepted from all areas of astronomy and astrophysics. The current astrophysics group at Notre Dame consists of 7 observers/instrumentalists and 4 theorists pursuing research in extra-solar planets, cosmology, galaxy evolution, nuclear astrophysics and stellar astronomy. Notre Dame is a partner in the Large Binocular Telescope and SDSS-IV. The university has created a core engineering center to facilitate the development of faculty experiments and instrumentation.
